BNL Baseball June 25, 2025

Congrats to Cam Gates- incoming Junior for the BNL Stars. He represented the program with pride and class today at the IHSBCA Futures games in Lafayette. Very proud of the work he puts in and the young man he is! He put up personal best pop times and infield velocity (both best among all participants), along with a double off the wall in the game. We were also able to recognize long time BNL Baseball assistant coach Dennis Kissinger as he was a member of the coaches committee who ran the showcase. Much deserved honor as he will begin his 15th season in the program next year. Great job guys! Go Stars!

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence seniors Cal Gates and Tate Tanksley were named to the Hoosier Hills Conference’s First Team by the league coaches. BNL’s Cam Gates and Cutler Chastain were named Honorable Mention.

As suggested by the roll call of honorees, the family members and friends who were selected by Bedford North Lawrence players and coaches for special mention during the annual Stars vs. Cancer fundraiser game to battle the dreaded disease, there’s no immunity to its emotional toll and impact.

WBIW - ELLETTSVILLE – Nobody is hotter than Tate Tanksley. Tanksley, Bedford North Lawrence’s senior catcher, bashed out four hits as the Stars rumbled past Edgewood 12-5 during high school baseball action on Thursday. Over the past three games, Tanksley has gone a combined 10-for-14 at the plate. It’s no coincidence the Stars have won all three.

Sophomore Cam Gates has been selected to participate in the 2025 IHSBCA Futures Games. Each summer the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association holds its annual North – South All-Star Series for the top seniors in the state. As a part of this experience, the IHSBCA hosts a Futures Games event on the Wednesday preceding the three-day all-star weekend. This year’s Futures Games will be on Wednesday June 25 at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette, Indiana beginning at 9:00 AM EST. (registration begins at 8:30 AM). #BNLBaseball #BNL Athletics

Cal and Cam Gates earned high marks this summer playing for their respective teams. Cam made the 15U Midwest Stars USA Baseball squad for the USA NTIS program. The 15U Midwest Stars team finished 2nd in the USA NTIS National Cup Championship. Cal was selected to the 2024 East Coast Pro baseball showcase as well as made the championship round in the 2024 WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, FL.
