Bedford North Lawrence Outfielder Grady Dalton Commits to Jackson College Baseball

For Bedford North Lawrence standout Grady Dalton, countless hours of training, competition, and dedication have culminated in one of the biggest milestones of his baseball career. The BNL Stars outfielder has officially committed to continue his academic and athletic career playing college baseball for the Jackson College Jets in Michigan, joining a highly respected program in the Midwest Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA).

Dalton enters his senior season as one of the premier outfielders in southern Indiana after putting together a remarkable junior campaign that established him as the defensive anchor and the absolute "clutch gene" of the Stars program. Patrolling the outfield with exceptional range and a powerful arm, Dalton paired his defensive dominance with an elite offensive approach that consistently ignited the BNL offense. Perhaps no stretch of games better defined Dalton's junior year than his performance during the Hoosier Hills Conference Tournament. Dalton served as a primary catalyst in leading Bedford North Lawrence to its first-ever Hoosier Hills Conference baseball championship in school history. With the championship on the line against longtime rival Jeffersonville, Dalton delivered the defining play of the tournament. In a high-stakes moment, he fielded a ball in the outfield and unleashed a perfect, game-saving throw to cut down the go-ahead Red Devil run at home plate. Combined with his timely, clutch hitting at the plate, his performance cemented the historic championship and earned him 2026 HHC All-Conference honors alongside BNL's Defensive MVP award.

Dalton’s impact on BNL athletics isn't limited to the baseball diamond. A fierce and versatile competitor, he also laces up his cleats on Friday nights as an Outside Linebacker and Running Back for the BNL Stars varsity football team. Dalton's toughness, work ethic, and athletic adaptability gained on the gridiron directly translate to his gritty, high-stakes play on the baseball field.

Located in Jackson, Michigan, Jackson College offers an outstanding environment for player development under the leadership of veteran Head Coach Rick Smith. The Jets compete in the highly competitive MCCAA and are known for producing technically sound, hard-nosed ballplayers who frequently transition to high-level four-year university programs. With their rich history of postseason contention and a focus on athletic excellence, Jackson College provides the perfect next step for a high-character competitor with Dalton’s work ethic.
For Bedford North Lawrence, Dalton's commitment represents another milestone for a program that continues to establish itself as one of Indiana's respected baseball powers. His leadership, defensive prowess, and willingness to rise to the occasion in clutch moments helped elevate the Stars to historic heights during his junior season, and expectations will be high as he returns for his senior year looking to build upon that success.
While there is still one more high school season to play, Dalton's future is firmly in place. As he prepares to patrol the outfield for his final season in a Stars uniform, he does so knowing that the next chapter of his baseball journey will continue in Michigan, where he will represent the Jackson College Jets.
From throwing out the winning run in a historic conference championship to anchoring the Stars' outfield, Grady Dalton has earned every opportunity that lies ahead.
